Growth & Performance Marketing Lead

Location: NYC or remote

Type: Freelance Contract Position (25-30 hours per month)

Bembien is seeking a freelance Growth & Performance Marketing Lead to support the continued growth of our e-commerce business across paid media, social and email.

This is a hands-on contract role for someone who can think strategically and execute thoughtfully. The ideal candidate is comfortable analyzing performance data and managing day-to-day marketing execution.

This role will partner directly with the Founder to own channel performance and drive measurable revenue growth while maintaining the brand’s identity. This role will be measured on channel growth, engagement quality, and contribution to revenue.

Scope of Work

Growth and Performance

Oversee paid media performance and provide strategic direction
Guide creative testing strategy for ads
Identify opportunities to improve conversion rate and AOV
Analyze performance metrics and recommend adjustments
Support revenue forecasting and launch planning

Social and Channel Growth

Analyze channel performance and identify opportunities to improve engagement quality, traffic contribution, and revenue impact
Monitor channel performance and recommend adjustments
Recommend paid amplification strategies where appropriate
Liaise with organic social team to guide organic channel strategy
Advise on affiliate and partnership opportunities

Email and Retention

Analyze email performance (open rate, CTR, revenue per send, flow performance) and recommend optimizations
Design and implement A/B testing strategy (subject lines, creative, offers, timing, segmentation)
Partner with creative team to improve messaging, layout, and conversion performance
Optimize flows and segmentation strategy
Support launch merchandising and promotional strategy

Ideal Candidate

6–10+ years experience scaling DTC or consumer brands
Demonstrated track record of driving profitable revenue growth (improving CAC, ROAS, conversion rate, and AOV)
Experience managing or overseeing paid media budgets
Demonstrated ability to grow qualified email subscribers and high-quality, revenue-contributing social audiences
Comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on execution levels
Deep familiarity with Shopify, Meta Ads Manager, Klaviyo, TikTok Shops
Proactive about leveraging data and emerging tools to drive faster experimentation and insights
Confident making recommendations and prioritizing high-impact initiatives in a lean environment

Engagement

Approximately 25-30 hours per month, depending on seasonal launch cadence
Monthly strategy reporting and planning + ongoing execution
Flexible scheduling
