4 ways to wear a silk scarf

There’s a reason the silk scarf is the forever-chic accessory for summer.

It puts that perfect finishing touch on even the simplest of outfits. Keep your silk scarf in your bag to dress up for dinner after a day at the beach. With so many different ways to wear it, the silk scarf is an endlessly versatile piece that feels like several accessories in one. Here are our favorite easy summer styling ideas for a silk scarf:

No. 1 Around the waist

Vogue called this styling trick a “summer essential.” Fold your scarf into a triangle and wrap it around your waist, tying the ends near your hip.

No. 2 As a head scarf

Fold your scarf into a triangle and place the long side along your forehead, just below your hairline. Bring the two ends behind your head and tie them above the triangle’s point, so the knot sits on top of the fabric.

No. 3 As a top

Wrap your scarf across your torso with the triangle facing down and tie behind your back (you may need a second pair of hands!). Pair with high waisted bottoms.

No. 4 Tied at the chin

Go 1950s Grace Kelly with this iconic style. Place your scarf over your head a couple inches back from your hairline and bring the two ends under your chin (and over your ears). Tie in a single or double knot.
